Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park

One of the best parts about touring around the province and visiting so many parks is that you get the opportunity to find some really unique places, and Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park is one them. Situated just a few minutes outside Peterborough this small park seems to attract all sorts of people, especially in the fall.

There isn’t a whole lot to this park, but I think that is part of its beauty. Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park has limited facilities (tables, washrooms, etc) near the parking lot and a simple network of trails that covers the 43 ha park. That’s basically it! The trails give you a ‘choose your own adventure’ feeling where you can just keep walking up and down the hills in whatever route you’d like for however long you want. Walking most of the main trails will take you about an hour which also makes this park a great spot for a break on a longer trip. You can get out, see the whole park and be back in your car in no time at all.

I really enjoyed the idea of having such a simple park available for people to use. If you’re passing by I’d definitely recommend stopping by and taking a quick hike.
